Monday, October 8, 2012 at 3:33PM This bucolic setting is just 45 minutes outside Washington, D.C. in Frederick County, Maryland. We met up with some old friends for an afternoon of pumpkin picking, complete with corn maze. Sophie and Dominic (their youngest) get along famously even though it's been 7 years since they were playmates as preschoolers. The last month I have seen Barb (who I haven't seen in 7 years), Deb (who I haven't seen in 4 years) and Sonal (who I haven't seen in 3 years). If you stay in the military long enough, eventually you will cross paths with old and dear friends again. It takes the sting out of starting over every 2-3 years.
Sunday, September 23, 2012 at 12:52PM About 10 miles from our house is Pennyfield's Lock. If you like, you can stay at the period Lockhouse overnight. We enjoyed another beautiful park on the Potomac in 65 degree sunny weather.
Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 4:58PM From our trip to Eastern Market today. It is located on the Red line, but Bethesda station out of commission today so we drove. We all enjoyed crepes from Crepes at the Market which were well worth the rate. This is a large consolidation of farmers market with varying quality of arts and crafts. There is a regular inside market with a delicious bakery, deli, and butcher. We will be back!
